The invention provides a method for preparing porous alumina ceramic by sucrose pore-forming, which comprises the following steps: (1) weighing alumina powder, sucrose and magnesium oxide powder in proportion, and mixing to obtain a ceramic raw material; (2) adding absolute ethyl alcohol and grinding beads into the ceramic raw material, and carrying out wet ball milling; (3) taking out the ball-milled material, and fully drying to obtain a mixture; (4) adding an adhesive into the mixture, and uniformly mixing; (5) performing dry pressing on the material in the step (4) to obtain a ceramic blank; (6) fully drying the ceramic blank; and (7) sintering the dried ceramic blank to obtain the porous alumina ceramic.
