The invention discloses equipment suitable for emergency flood control engineering in underground space and a method thereof.The equipment comprises a flood control bank, the flood control bank is installed in an installation groove in a sliding and sealing mode, the top of the flood control bank protrudes out of the ground, inclined strips are fixed to the two sides of the installation groove, and when the flood control bank is located in the installation groove, the inclined strips are fixed to the ground; the protruding part on the top of the flood bank and the inclined strips on the two sides are combined to form the deceleration strip. A water accumulation groove is formed in one side of the mounting groove, a grating is mounted at the top of the water accumulation groove, the water accumulation groove is communicated with an underground drainage channel, and a communication hole is formed between the bottom of the water accumulation groove and the bottom of the mounting groove; the flood control mechanism is arranged, when flood suddenly occurs, the water level of the underground drainage channel rapidly rises, the rising water level pushes the flood control bank to rise, the flood control bank extends out of the ground, the height of synchronous upward movement of the flood control bank is larger along with rising of the water level, and therefore external flood is effectively prevented from rushing into the underground space; and the safety of people and objects in the underground space is ensured.
