The invention discloses a road disease detection method and device, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining collection data, carrying out the preprocessing of the collection data, and generating first road data for the detection of a damaged region; and detecting first road data according to a first detection algorithm, identifying road damage information in the first road data, and uploading the road damage information to a server according to a first threshold value, so that the server performs secondary detection on the road damage information by using a second detection algorithm to complete road disease detection. The road data is collected at the terminal, the road disease is detected according to the low-computing-power first detection algorithm, the low-computing-power algorithm improves the recognition speed of recognizing the road disease, and the cost of collecting and recognizing the terminal is reduced; meanwhile, secondary detection and auditing are carried out by utilizing a second detection algorithm with high computing power after reporting, so that the accuracy of road disease detection is improved; therefore, the cost of road disease identification is reduced on the premise of ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
