The invention discloses a high and steep slope vegetation recovery structure which structurally comprises a steep slope, a main body and four or more fixing blocks, the main body is installed on the end face of the steep slope, the fixing blocks are embedded into the end face of the steep slope, the main body comprises a bottom plate, a partition plate, a planting groove and a water retention device, and the water retention device comprises a fault plate, a net plate, a rooting groove and a sponge block. The partition plate comprises a plate body, a fixing block, an embedding groove, a retention groove and a circulating groove, and the circulating groove comprises a groove body, a protective block, a connecting block, a flow guide block and a buffer groove. The retention groove makes contact with soil in the planting groove, the soil in the planting groove is clamped, and the soil is prevented from flowing away downwards under washing of water flow; the soil can be retained in the planting grooves to provide nutrients for vegetation, and the situation that roots of the vegetation are separated from soil maintenance and withered is prevented.
