The invention relates to a calcium-containing porous mineral material having a sulfate content of no more than 1.5 wt% and a biopolymer content of 0.001 wt% to 5.0 wt%, each relative to the total weight of the material; a method for producing said material by means of a biopolymer as a stabilizer; and the use of the biopolymer in the production of sulfate-depleted calcium-containing porous mineral materials.
