The invention discloses an overflow structure capable of automatically adjusting the water depth in a vertical seam type fishway, and relates to the technical field of hydraulic engineering construction, the overflow structure comprises multiple stages of overflow joints which are connected in series, the overflow joint at the head position is connected with a fishway outlet section pool chamber, and the overflow joint at the tail position is connected with a fishway inlet section pool chamber; an overflow gap is formed in each stage of overflow joint; and a height difference is formed between the adjacent overflow gaps, so that the water depth of each stage of overflow section is gradually reduced in the direction from the fishway outlet section pool chamber to the fishway inlet section pool chamber. According to the overflow structure, the functions of automatically overflowing redundant flow and adjusting the water depth in the fishway are achieved under the condition that the outlet is formed, so that the water falling phenomenon caused by mismatching of upstream and downstream water levels and the fact that the water depth of the outlet section is larger than that of the inlet section is eliminated, and the requirement for fish upstream is met.
