The invention relates to a construction method of a large-water-head tidal zone steel sheet pile cofferdam. The construction method comprises the steps that longitudinal and transverse guide frames are installed; constructing a pile casing hoop system; mounting an inner upper-layer steel support; construction of Larsen steel sheet piles; building a central area construction platform; inner side lower-layer steel supports are installed; and silt digging, foundation cleaning and concrete pouring are conducted in the cofferdam. The guide frame has the beneficial effects that the stability of the longitudinal guide frame is effectively improved through the rigid pull rods and the flexible pull ropes, then the stability of the whole guide frame system is improved, and rapid installation of the longitudinal guide frame and the transverse guide frame is achieved through the I-shaped preformed holes; high-precision construction of the Larsen steel sheet pile is achieved in the mode that a track is preset and fine adjustment jacking equipment is installed. The central area construction platform is arranged, so that a safe and convenient operation space is provided for silt digging and foundation cleaning in the cofferdam and concrete bottom sealing construction; and a water level monitor and an axial force meter are arranged to dynamically monitor the support and the water level in the cofferdam.
