The invention discloses an expansion joint type pavement drainage structure and a construction method thereof.The expansion joint type pavement drainage structure comprises a groove excavated in the transverse direction of a pavement, a roadbed cushion layer, a drainage ditch with a water passing open groove, a prefabricated cover plate and a cast-in-place layer with an expansion joint, the roadbed cushion layer is laid at the bottom of the groove, the drainage ditch is formed in the roadbed cushion layer, and the prefabricated cover plate is arranged on the cast-in-place layer; the prefabricated cover plate is arranged at the upper end of a water passing open groove of the drainage ditch to form a drainage channel, reinforcing meshes located on the two sides of a notch of the expansion joint are arranged in the prefabricated cover plate and the cast-in-place layer, and a drainage hole aligned with the notch of the expansion joint is formed in the prefabricated cover plate. The cross slope of the drainage ditch can be set to be large, the drainage efficiency is improved, and the influence which is not beneficial to drainage and caused by differential settlement of a roadbed is relieved; according to the invention, the structural rigidity of the transformed road section is ensured, the height difference possibly occurring at the position is reduced, and the driving comfort is improved; the drainage structure is reliable in connection, easy to construct, convenient to maintain, good in durability, low in manufacturing cost and capable of improving driving safety.
