The invention relates to a system and method for unlocking a vehicle door and a vehicle door handle. The door has a handle mounted on an outer side of the door. The handle is operable to move to unlock the door. The system for unlocking a vehicle door includes: a capacitance sensor installed in a handle and disposed to face a vehicle door side, the capacitance sensor configured to detect a capacitance signal; an acceleration sensor installed in the handle and arranged to move together with the handle, the acceleration sensor configured to detect an acceleration signal; and a control unit in communication with the capacitance sensor and the acceleration sensor and configured to determine whether to unlock the door based on both the capacitance signal and the acceleration signal.

The invention relates to a system and method for unlocking a vehicle door and a vehicle door handle. The door has a handle mounted on an outer side of the door. The handle is operable to move to unlock the door.
