The invention relates to a method for controlling an electromechanical sliding door (10) in a motor vehicle (100). The sliding door (10) has an adjustment mechanism (12) with a roller carrier (14) guided in a guide rail (16) and a first electric drive motor (18). Furthermore, a fastening mechanism (30) is provided, which has a second electric drive motor (32) and a locking mechanism (54), which enables the locking of the roller carrier (14) in any position. In this case, the locking mechanism (54) is actuated by a second electric drive motor (32). The method comprises the following steps:-actuating the second electric drive motor (32) with an input voltage which is lower than a threshold voltage for triggering the locking mechanism (54); continuously increasing the input voltage for the second electric drive motor (32), and locking the locking mechanism (54) when the input voltage for the second electric drive motor (32) exceeds a threshold voltage for triggering the locking mechanism (54). The invention further relates to a motor vehicle (100) having an electromechanical sliding door (10) controlled by such a method.
