Shear resistant geomembrane using mechanical bonding
An elongated polymeric impermeable geomembrane sheet having opposing first and second surfaces with a plurality of spaced apart first protrusions extending from the first surface, each tapering towards a pointed apex at a distal extent, the first protrusions being spaced apart from the first surface, the first protrusions being spaced apart from the second surface, the first protrusions being spaced apart from the first surface. These first projections are used to mechanically engage a synthetic drainage geonet overlying a tufted geotextile sheet and in contact with an adjacent filler material within the aggregate, whereby the aggregate improves resistance to shear failure of the aggregate of filler material and reduces stable failure of material aggregation applications. A ground cover closure system is disclosed.
