The invention provides a hoisting method for a main truss of a steel truss girder. The hoisting method comprises the steps that the main truss of each section of the steel truss girder is designed and divided into a lower half truss piece and an upper half truss piece; the lower half truss piece and the upper half truss piece are horizontally transported to a construction site after being manufactured in a factory; a gantry crane is used for hoisting on site, and a main hook and an auxiliary hook are arranged on the gantry crane; during hoisting, a main hook and an auxiliary hook of the gantry crane are matched, the lower half truss piece and the upper half truss piece are turned over by 90 degrees from the horizontal state to the vertical state, and then the lower half truss piece and the upper half truss piece are hoisted to a support; and the lower half truss piece and the upper half truss piece are connected into a whole truss piece on the support through high-strength bolts. According to the invention, the quantity of on-site hoisting and connection of rod pieces can be reduced, the hoisting efficiency is improved, and the mechanical and labor costs are saved.
