The invention relates to the technical field of rod piece connection, in particular to a lateral wedge-caulking connection device for rod pieces and a using method of the lateral wedge-caulking connection device. The lateral wedge-caulking connecting device of the rod piece comprises a connecting sleeve and a wedge-caulking pin. A plurality of wedge-caulking holes are formed in the connecting sleeve, and the axes of the wedge-caulking holes do not intersect with the axis of the connecting sleeve; the wedge-caulking pin is arranged in the wedge-caulking hole, and the side wall of the wedge-caulking pin abuts against the side wall of the rod piece in the connecting sleeve. A first friction part is arranged on the inner wall of the connecting sleeve, and the first friction part and the wedge-caulking hole are arranged on the two opposite sides of the axis of the connecting sleeve correspondingly; the first friction part is used for increasing friction force between the connecting sleeve and the rod piece. The using method of the device comprises the steps that the two rod pieces are inserted into the connecting sleeve from the two ends of the connecting sleeve correspondingly, then the wedge-caulking pins are inserted into the wedge-caulking holes to be pressed, and the two opposite sides of the rod pieces abut against the wedge-caulking pins and the first friction parts correspondingly. In the connecting process, the rod pieces do not need to be rotated and do not displace, and the connecting structure is suitable for modular construction.
