The invention relates to roof seam locking equipment and a seam locking method. The roof seam locking equipment comprises a shell; the number of the stitch locking mechanisms is two, the stitch locking mechanisms are symmetrically arranged on the shell in the extending direction of the shell, each stitch locking mechanism comprises a driving assembly and a stitch locking assembly, and multiple sets of connecting pieces are arranged between the driving assembly and the stitch locking assembly located on the same side in the shell; the conical heads are driven by the second driving pieces to move downwards, the side walls of the conical heads are attached to the inclined parts of the connecting pieces, and therefore in the downward moving process of the conical heads, the conical heads can be driven by the second driving pieces to move downwards, and the conical heads can be driven by the second driving pieces to move downwards. The conical heads push the corresponding connecting pieces to move in the direction away from each other or close to each other through the inclined parts so as to increase or decrease the distance between the two sets of lock stitch mechanisms, and therefore the purpose of adjusting the gap between the two sets of lock stitch mechanisms is achieved, the lock stitch mechanism is suitable for roof panels with different thicknesses, and the locking effect of the roof panels is achieved.
