The inserting type steel column base comprises a concrete foundation with a reserved cup opening, a steel column, a base and a positioning mechanism. The positioning mechanism comprises four right-angle stand columns and two horizontal positioning frames, the right-angle stand columns are installed on the corresponding right-angle installation plates, each horizontal positioning frame comprises a pair of transverse plates, a pair of longitudinal plates and a pair of positioning plates, the transverse plates are installed in the middles or the tops of the two adjacent stand columns on the two transverse sides, and the longitudinal plates are installed on the positioning plates.
