Locking mechanism for adjustable telescopic strut assembly
A locking mechanism (102) for locking an inner tube (104) with an outer tube (106) of an adjustable telescopic push-pull strut assembly (100) is disclosed. The locking mechanism (102) comprises: a slotted strut nut (112) having a slot (302) and adapted to move in either direction upon rotation on a threaded outer tube (106); a guide ring (116) adapted to be received in the slot (302) of the slotted strut nut (112); and a capture slotted pin assembly (114) adapted to be received in the guide ring (116) for locking and unlocking the inner tube (104) and the outer tube (106) such that the slotted strut nut (112) encloses the guide ring (116) and the capture slotted pin assembly (114). Positioning of the slotted pin assembly (114) is captured such that it does not hinder rotation of the slotted strut nut (112).
