The construction method comprises the steps that in a target construction area, according to the lofting requirement, variable cross-section U-shaped channel steel is installed on a prefabricated steel tank framework clamping groove unit, and after installation, an opening of the variable cross-section U-shaped channel steel faces upwards; according to the lofting requirement, force-bearing ground rail steel channels are installed on the tops of the two side plates of the variable cross-section U-shaped steel channel correspondingly, and openings of the two force-bearing ground rail steel channels deviate from each other after installation; according to the lofting requirement, a reinforcing rib system is installed on the steel tank framework clamping groove unit, and installation of the large-span steel tank framework unit is completed; and according to the extending direction of the large-span steel tank framework, the adjacent large-span steel tank framework units are spliced in sequence, and overall installation of the large-span steel tank framework is completed. The invention aims to solve the problem of low construction precision of a large-span steel tank framework obtained by splicing and assembling a plurality of large-span steel tank framework units due to errors generated in prefabrication and transportation of the large-span steel tank framework units.
