A method of constructing a tower of a cable-stayed bridge comprises the steps of: pouring a starting segment of a tower pillar on a bridge pier 1; using outwardly inclined climbing formwork structures 7 to pour two lower tower pillars 2, where a truss 8 which may be connected to a crane 9 is arranged on the top of the two climbing formwork structures and is lifted and drives the two climbing formwork structures to move to the next construction portion of the tower pillars; a construction platform is built between the two lower tower pillars, and a lower beam is poured on the top of the two lower tower pillars; exchanging the climbing formworks on the truss and pouring inwardly inclined middle tower pillars followed by the pouring of an upper beam; and, the pouring for an upper tower pillar is completed. The climbing formworks may include first and second supporting platforms and driving components in the form of hydraulic cylinders to move side formworks.
