The external corner screeding rod comprises an L-shaped right-angle profile main body formed by two panels which are perpendicular to each other, a plurality of adjusting bolts used for adjusting the height of the profile main body are installed on the panels, the adjusting bolts are installed on the panels in a penetrating mode, and at least two fixing rings for assisting the profile main body are arranged on the upper portion and the lower portion of the profile main body. The two ends of the fixing ring are installed on the surface sides of the two panels respectively, supporting elastic pieces are arranged on the surface sides of the panels, and the other ends of the supporting elastic pieces are bent in the extension line direction of the panels. The invention further discloses a using method of the external corner screeding rod for plastering gypsum. The auxiliary sectional material has the advantages that the construction efficiency is improved, the construction quality can be obviously improved, the structure is simple, the universality is high, the symmetrical elastic pieces are used for fixing the auxiliary sectional material body to the wall, it is ensured that the sectional material body does not slip or fall off, the two fixing rings are arranged on the sectional material body at equal intervals, and the panels of the sectional material body are perpendicular to each other; and the fixing ring is convenient to carry and use during construction.
