The invention provides a cement raw material grinding aid. The cement raw material grinding aid is prepared from spherical gypsum particles, quaternary ammonium base, polyvinylpyrrolidone, N-vinylpyrrolidone and C2-C4 polyhydric alcohol, the spherical gypsum particles are graded spherical gypsum particles. The invention also provides a preparation method of the cement raw material grinding aid. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing the N-vinylpyrrolidone and the C2-C4 polyol, and stirring; and adding the spherical gypsum particles, 0.1-0.5% of quaternary ammonium base and polyvinylpyrrolidone, and carrying out first ball milling, thereby obtaining the product. The invention also provides an application of the cement raw material grinding aid in a cement raw material grinding process.
