The invention discloses a single-side formwork supporting system for a pile-plate retaining wall and a construction method. The single-side formwork supporting system comprises a plurality of slide-resistant piles arranged at preset positions of a side slope, retaining wall formworks arranged between the adjacent slide-resistant piles and formwork supporting structures arranged on the free sides of the retaining wall formworks. The formwork supporting structure is used for transmitting acting force of a retaining wall formwork to an anti-slide pile and comprises a supporting assembly arranged on the free side of the retaining wall formwork and an adjusting assembly arranged between the supporting assembly and the retaining wall formwork. The adjusting assembly is used for adjusting the levelness and perpendicularity of the retaining wall formwork and transmitting the acting force of the retaining wall formwork to the supporting assembly, and the supporting assembly is connected with the anti-slide pile and then transmits the acting force of the adjusting assembly to the anti-slide pile; the method is not limited to site conditions, formwork supporting frames do not need to be independently erected, and meanwhile the method is not affected by the plane relative position relation of the retaining wall and the anti-slide pile.
