The invention discloses a unit connecting joint based on a cross-shaped inserting piece for a steel structure module building. The unit connecting joint comprises an upper module assembly, a lower module assembly, a vertical connecting plate, a lower column top plate, an upper column bottom plate, a high-strength bolt and a joint plate with the cross-shaped inserting piece. Each of the upper module assembly and the lower module assembly comprises four module units, an upper column bottom plate is fixed at the bottom of each module column in the upper module assembly, and a lower column top plate is fixed at the top of each module column in the lower module assembly; wherein cross-shaped holes are formed in the upper column bottom plate and the lower column top plate, bolt mounting holes are formed in the outer sides of the cross-shaped holes, the cross-shaped holes are used for mounting node plates with cross-shaped inserting pieces, the strength of a node core area is improved, and the node plates with the cross-shaped inserting pieces are prefabricated in a factory; wherein the cross-shaped plug-in connecting plate is provided with a bolt mounting hole. On-site welding is avoided, the joint construction quality can be guaranteed, the structure is simple, force transmission is clear, the mechanical property is good, the joint core area strength is high, and installation is convenient.
