The invention provides a lifting type turnout and a switching method, and the lifting type turnout comprises a middle beam, a curved beam and a linear beam; the middle beam is fixedly arranged at the intersection of the side line and the main line, and the middle beam is provided with a first end, a second end and a third end; the curve beam comprises a curve lifting part, the curve lifting part is arranged on the side line in a lifting mode, and the curve lifting part is arranged close to the first end; the linear beam comprises a linear lifting part, the linear lifting part is arranged on the main line in a lifting mode, and the linear lifting part is arranged close to the second end. According to the lifting type turnout and the switching method provided by the invention, the curve lifting part can be set to be a curve type or a subsection forming the curve so as to reduce a fold line fitting road section of a side line, so that the side line passing speed of a vehicle is increased, and the lifting part moves in the height direction and is small in occupied area and low in cost.
