The invention relates to the technical field of building construction, and discloses a reinforcing device for protecting a brick wall body, which comprises a locking steel bar used for penetrating through brick joints on the same layer of an existing brick wall, a locking structure positioned on one side of the existing brick wall and fixed with the locking steel bar, and a fixing structure positioned on the other side of the existing brick wall and connected with the locking steel bar to fix the position of the locking steel bar; the locking steel bars are provided with locking pieces which rotate along with the locking steel bars and then are clamped into adjacent vertical brick joints. The locking structure comprises a strip-shaped steel plate which is connected with one end of the locking steel bar and tightly attached to the existing building wall. According to the method, the locking steel bars with the locking pieces are inserted into the bricklaying layer seams to rotate, the locking pieces are obliquely arranged between the adjacent vertical bricklaying seams, bricks of the bricklaying wall body are used as pulling stress points for reinforcement, the brick bodies are not damaged, the appearance and the structure of the whole wall body are kept complete, and meanwhile construction is convenient.
