The side door lock comprises a lock tongue; the pawl assembly is used for keeping the spring bolt at a locking position and a pre-locking position; the mechanical unlocking device can drive the pawl assembly to act, so that when the side door lock is applied to the motor vehicle, the mechanical unlocking device can be operated from the interior of the motor vehicle and the exterior of the motor vehicle, and therefore the spring bolt can be switched among the opening position, the pre-locking position and the locking position; the central locking device comprises a starting state and a non-starting state, and when the central locking device is in the starting state, the mechanical unlocking device is not allowed to drive the pawl assembly to act; and when the central lock device is in a non-starting state, the mechanical unlocking device is allowed to drive the pawl assembly to act, and the lock tongue is changed among the opening position, the pre-locking position and the locking position. The invention further provides a motor vehicle.
