The invention relates to an automatic river channel cleaning ship which comprises a ship body, and a storage bin is arranged in the ship body. The aquatic plant collecting device forms a V-shaped opening shape; the excavator is mounted at the head part of the ship body and comprises an excavator main body, an excavating arm and a bucket; the smashing device is arranged in the storage bin and located on the side, away from the aquatic plant collecting device, of the excavator; the compressing and packing device is connected with the crushing device and is arranged at the lower end of the crushing device; the positioning devices are respectively arranged on two sides of the ship body; the propeller thruster is arranged at the lower end of the tail part of the ship body; and the ship body driving device is arranged at the upper end of the tail part of the ship body. The aquatic plant collecting device integrates aquatic plant collecting, digging and transporting and compressing and packaging and is easy to disassemble, replace and maintain, the whole working process is tight in connection and high in mechanization degree, and the collecting efficiency is far higher than that of manual fishing.
