The invention discloses a connecting method of a steel structure cross flange connecting node, the connecting node comprises a first steel beam, a second steel beam, a third steel beam and a fourth steel beam, and the connecting end of each steel beam is of a wedge-shaped structure; a first connecting plate is preset on one side of the connecting end of the first steel beam; a second connecting plate is pre-arranged on one side of the connecting end of the second steel beam; the midpoint positions of the first connecting plate and the second connecting plate are each provided with a rectangular through groove structure. A third end plate and a fourth end plate are arranged on the two sides of the connecting end of the third steel beam correspondingly and are the same in structure. The connecting method comprises the steps that a first connecting plate and a second connecting plate are clamped through a through groove structure, connection of a first steel beam and a second steel beam is completed, and the first connecting plate and the second connecting plate form a cross-shaped connecting structure; the third steel beam and the fourth steel beam are connected to the cross-shaped connecting structure through the end plates at the connecting ends and bolts, or the third steel beam and the fourth steel beam are welded to the cross-shaped connecting structure.
