A movable film-shaped metamaterial sound barrier disclosed by the present invention comprises a film noise reduction unit and a structure fixing unit used for arranging and fixing the film noise reduction unit, and the film noise reduction unit comprises a microporous film, a first cavity, a first sound insulation layer, a second cavity and a second sound insulation layer which are arranged along a sound wave propagation direction, a plurality of micropores for absorbing sound waves are distributed on the surface of the microporous membrane; when sound waves enter the first cavity through the microporous film, the micropores and the first cavity are used for conducting preliminary noise reduction so as to reduce reflected sound generated by the sound waves, the sound energy of the transmission sound waves is reduced through the first sound insulation layer and the second sound insulation layer, and meanwhile the sound energy of the transmission sound waves is further reduced through the second cavity. The invention further provides an installation method. The sound barrier is convenient to disassemble and assemble and has the effects of sound insulation and sound absorption at the same time, and therefore noise pollution of construction equipment of a building construction site can be effectively reduced.
