The invention discloses an outward-extending type work platform and an installation method thereof.The outward-extending type work platform comprises a supporting frame, a main frame, a first truss, a second truss, a first outward-extending platform and a second outward-extending platform, the supporting frame comprises a base and moving wheels, and the base is of a cuboid frame structure; the main frame is perpendicular to the supporting frame. The first truss is fixed to the lower portion of the supporting frame. The second truss is fixed at the upper part of the main frame; the first outward-extending platform is connected with the first end of the first truss, and the position of the first outward-extending platform can be adjusted in the direction perpendicular to the first truss. The second outward-extending platform is connected with the first end of the second truss, and the position of the second outward-extending platform can be adjusted in the direction perpendicular to the second truss. When curtain wall construction at a building construction position is carried out, a larger construction range can be obtained by adjusting the positions of the first outward-extending platform and the second outward-extending platform through the outward-extending type operation platform, and therefore curtain wall construction at a special building construction position is carried out.
