The invention discloses an automatic container terminal operation lane division method, which considers division of AGV vertical buffer lane access lanes and division of AGV high-speed lanes behind a bridge crane which are key factors influencing AGV communication efficiency. Bridge crane groups are divided according to factors such as positions and states of the bridge cranes, current operation types of the bridge cranes, available conditions of vertical buffer areas, distances between adjacent bridge cranes and the like, and on the basis of dividing the bridge crane groups, according to preset information such as the number of the vertical buffer areas entering and exiting the bridge cranes, the number of the current available vertical buffer areas, the length and width of an AGV body and the like, the number of the vertical buffer areas entering and exiting the bridge cranes is calculated. The working conditions of bridge crane balanced distribution operation, bridge crane shoulder-to-shoulder operation, bridge crane extreme position operation and the like are considered as a whole, and a lower operation lane of each bridge crane and a vertical buffer area range for the AGV to enter and exit from each bridge crane are dynamically divided, so that the AGV efficiently passes through the buffer area and the bridge cranes to carry out cross-connecting box operation, path congestion is avoided, and the shore loading and unloading efficiency is improved.
