The high-performance gypsum slurry external additive is prepared by compounding the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 320-400 parts of polyether macromonomer; 20 to 30 parts of unsaturated acid; 5 to 10 parts of a cationic monomer; 2-4 parts of an oxidant; 400 to 500 parts of deionized water; 0.5 to 2.5 parts of a reducing agent; the polyether macromonomer comprises at least one of ethylene glycol monovinyl polyoxyethylene ether and 4-hydroxybutyl vinyl polyoxyethylene ether, and the unsaturated acid comprises at least one of fumaric acid, glycidyl acrylate and itaconic acid. In the synthesis process of the water reducing agent, the dropwise adding time of the solution has great influence on the conversion rate and the performance of the product, the dropwise adding time is too short, the chemical reaction is violent, the molecular weight is too large, and the performance is reduced; in the prior art, the titration time is too slow, the production cycle is long, and the method is not economical, but the titration time of 2-3 hours is most appropriate.
