The invention relates to a preparation method of a diamond sintered body and the diamond sintered body. The preparation method comprises the following steps: carrying out nitriding treatment on diamond micro-powder to form pits and/or defects on the particle surface of the diamond micro-powder, and obtaining micro-powder after nitriding treatment; and carrying out pressure sintering treatment on the micro powder to obtain a diamond sintered body. According to the preparation method disclosed by the embodiment of the invention, the diamond sintered body can be generated without an adhesive, and the hardness and compactness of the diamond sintered body can be improved.
