The invention provides an asphalt pavement paving thickness detection system which comprises a paver, a control device and thickness detection mechanisms arranged on the front side and the rear side of the ironing mechanism, and the paver is provided with an ironing mechanism and an auger distribution mechanism; the thickness detection mechanism is provided with a cross beam, one end of the cross beam is installed on the top of the ironing mechanism, a T-shaped supporting arm is arranged below the other end of the cross beam, a pressing roller shaft seat is arranged below the T-shaped supporting arm in a sliding mode, and a pressing roller is rotationally arranged on the inner side of the pressing roller shaft seat. A telescopic displacement sensor for detecting the displacement between the compression roller shaft seat and the T-shaped supporting arm is arranged at the top of the compression roller shaft seat; according to the invention, the front side and the rear side of the ironing mechanism respectively correspond to an unpaved road surface and a paved road surface, the relative height of the front side and the rear side of the ironing mechanism is respectively detected through the thickness detection mechanism, and the paving thickness value can be obtained by solving the difference between the two height values.
