The present invention relates to a water dispersible polymer powder composition for use as an additive for well cementation in subterranean formations, comprising at least styrene-butadiene polymer particles, a water soluble polymer and a nonionic emulsifier, wherein the styrene-butadiene polymer particles are at least partially covered and/or embedded in a composition comprising at least the water-soluble polymer; a process for preparing the composition by spray drying an aqueous dispersion comprising the styrene-butadiene polymer particles and a water-soluble polymer, wherein at least one nonionic emulsifier is added before or after spray drying; and the use of the water dispersible polymer powder composition for cementing in a subterranean formation penetrated by at least one wellbore.
