The invention relates to the field of bridge engineering, in particular to an automatic press-fitting device for a middle seat plate of a bridge spherical steel support, which comprises a processing platform, a blocking assembly, a limiting assembly, a pressurizing assembly, a conveying line and a clamping assembly, and the blocking assembly is used for horizontally centering a middle seat plate tray and a lower seat plate in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the conveying line; the limiting assembly is used for horizontally centering the middle base plate tray and the lower base plate in the conveying direction of the conveying line, so that the blocking assembly and the limiting assembly jointly center the middle base plate tray and the lower base plate in four directions in the horizontal direction in the press-fitting process, and the clamping assembly is used for clamping the middle base plate and comprises a plurality of clamping jaws; and the middle seat plate is clamped by the clamping jaw, and an avoiding gap is reserved between the plane wear-resisting plate and the clamping jaw. The invention further provides a method for automatic press fitting of the seat plate in the bridge spherical steel support. Automatic press fitting of the middle seat plate can be achieved, the labor intensity can be lowered, and potential safety hazards are avoided.
