The present disclosure relates to a latch for mounting on a closure panel of a vehicle, the latch comprising: a frame having a first frame portion on which one or more latch components of the latch are mounted and a second frame portion on which a latch control module is mounted, the latch control module includes a controller having at least one sensor, where the at least one sensor is capable of sensing a position of the one or more latch components. The present disclosure also relates to a method of providing a latch mounted in a latch housing.
