The method comprises the following steps: mixing magnesium aluminate spinel powder, a first sintering aid, a second sintering aid, a binder and a dispersant, and then carrying out ball milling to obtain a mixture; wherein the first sintering aid is an aid for promoting sintering by forming a liquid phase, the second sintering aid is an aid for promoting sintering through a grain boundary pinning effect, the first sintering aid is a main agent, and the second sintering aid is an auxiliary agent; and carrying out compression molding on the mixture, and sintering to obtain the magnesium aluminate spinel lens. Two sintering aids with different sintering promoting mechanisms are added, the different sintering promoting mechanisms are complementary, the existing first sintering aid is improved, the first sintering aid is used as a main material, the second sintering aid is used as an auxiliary material, and under the condition that the grain boundary pinning effect is used for assistance, the sintering efficiency is improved.
