The invention relates to a reduction type polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 10 to 15 parts of modified alcohol ether macromonomer, 60 to 70 parts of unsaturated polyether macromonomer, 1 to 5 parts of unsaturated esterification monomer, 10 to 15 parts of acrylic acid, 1 to 1.5 parts of oxidizing agent, 0.05 to 0.08 part of reducing agent, 0.08 to 1 part of chain transfer agent and 100 to 400 parts of deionized water. The shrinkage-reducing type polycarboxylic acid water reducer prepared by the invention not only has the characteristics of a conventional polycarboxylic acid water reducer, but also has a good shrinkage-reducing effect of preventing concrete cracking, so that the problem of poor durability caused by shrinkage in concrete engineering is solved; and the construction safety of concrete engineering is greatly improved.
