The invention relates to a building panel comprising a balancing layer (4) having a top face and a bottom face, a first sub-layer (3a) being arranged on the top face of the balancing layer (4) wherein the first sub-layer (3a) comprises an adhesive, a surface layer (1) being arranged above a surface of the first sub-layer (3a) facing away from/away from the balancing layer (4), said surface layer (1) having a top face and a bottom face and comprising a first wood veneer (10) having a textured direction (G), wherein the top surface of the surface layer (1) is adapted to become a visible surface of the building panel when installed, and wherein the extension of the surface layer (1) in a direction parallel to the textured direction (G) of the first wood veneer (10) is equal to or less than the extension of the balancing layer (4) in a direction parallel to the textured direction (G) of the first wood veneer (10), and wherein the surface layer (1) is arranged in the extension of the balancing layer (4) parallel to the texture direction (G) of the first wood veneer (10). The present disclosure also relates to a method of producing a building panel.
