The graphite negative electrode material is obtained by sintering petroleum coke green coke and calcined coke, and the granularity of the calcined coke is less than or equal to that of the petroleum coke green coke. The graphite negative electrode material comprises the following raw materials: intermediate coke and first asphalt, wherein the intermediate coke is obtained by sintering green petroleum coke and calcined coke. According to the graphite negative electrode material provided by the invention, the calcined coke is added on the basis of the green petroleum coke and is sintered, so that the green coke is effectively prevented from being agglomerated in the sintering process, the sintering is more sufficient and uniform, the sintering time can be shortened, and the sintering capacity is effectively improved; and the capacity and the compaction density of the graphitized product of the green petroleum coke are also improved under the condition that the rate capability loss is relatively small.
