The invention belongs to the technical field of steel structure construction, and discloses a steel column base joint construction method which comprises the following steps: arranging a supporting seat on a truss, and designing and manufacturing a spherical hinge for later use; the bottom end and the top end of the spherical hinge are connected to the supporting base and the steel column foot correspondingly; and after deformation of the truss is completed, the steel column foot is fixed to the truss through the sealing plate. According to the steel column base joint construction method, the steel column base and the truss are hinged through the spherical hinge, the omni-directional bending moment in the construction stage can be effectively released, and the situation that in steel structure construction, due to deformation of the truss, the additional bending moment of the steel column base joint is too large, and consequently deformation occurs is avoided; the joint of the steel column foot and the truss is cracked and even damaged; after deformation of the truss is completed, the steel column foot is fixed to the truss through the sealing plate, so that the spherical hinge does not rotate any more, rigid connection of the steel column and the truss is achieved, the connection strength can be effectively guaranteed, the structure is simple, and the construction difficulty is low.
