The invention belongs to the field of resource recycling of waste denitration catalysts, and particularly relates to a method for preparing high-purity metatitanic acid by using a waste denitration catalyst. The method comprises the following steps: treating the waste denitration catalyst with mixed alkali liquor, cleaning with acid after treatment, and separating to obtain a high-purity metatitanic acid solid. By means of the method, impurities such as vanadium oxide, tungsten oxide, silicon oxide and aluminum oxide can be effectively removed from the waste denitration catalyst, the metatitanic acid nano-particles with the TiO2 content larger than 99% and small and uniform particle size are obtained through recycling, and the metatitanic acid nano-particles are suitable for further preparing novel electronic ceramic materials.
