The invention relates in particular to a thick material dispensing mast (18) for dispensing thick material to be conveyed by means of a thick material pump (16), comprising a rotating mechanism (19) which can be rotated about a vertical axis at a maximum rotational speed, a mast device (40) with at least one first mast arm (41) and one second mast arm (42), the first mast arm (41) is connected to the rotary mechanism (19) at the proximal end of the mast device (40), and wherein the mast arms (41, 42) each have a maximum operating range, a delivery line (17) extending over the mast device (40), which delivery line comprises a proximal end and a distal end that can be connected to the output (28) of the thickener pump, the distal end of the delivery line (17) transitions into the end hose (45) at the distal end of the mast device (40), a receiving unit (11) for receiving at least one piece of operational information, a processing unit (12), a control unit (13) for determining a currently permissible operating range of the first mast arm (41) and of the second mast arm (42) and/or for determining a currently permissible rotational mechanism speed in each case on the basis of at least one received operating information, and a control unit (13) for controlling the first mast arm (41) and the second mast arm (42), and a limiting means for limiting the operating range of the respective mast arm (41, 42) to the respective currently permitted operating range if one of the determined currently permitted operating ranges of the first mast arm (41) and the second mast arm (42) is less than or equal to the respective maximum operating range, and/or for limiting the rotational speed of the rotary mechanism (19) if the determined currently permissible rotational speed is less than or equal to the maximum rotational speed.
