The invention discloses a gypsum-based lightweight plastering material, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50 to 100 parts of natural white gypsum powder, 100 to 200 parts of lightweight aggregate, 20 to 30 parts of exciting agents, 5 to 10 parts of retarders, 1 to 3 parts of thickening agents, 5 to 10 parts of anti-cracking agents, 5 to 10 parts of water-retaining agents, 5 to 10 parts of rubber powder and 5 to 10 parts of water reducing agents. The thickening agent is any one or more of cellulose, bentonite and aluminum-magnesium silicate; the anti-cracking agent is any one or more of lime, fiber and crystal; the retarder is an organic retarder and/or an inorganic retarder, and the organic retarder comprises tartaric acid, sodium tartrate, citric acid and potassium citrate. The anti-cracking agent is added into the gypsum material, so that the toughness of the gypsum material in the using process is effectively enhanced, meanwhile, the cracking and falling conditions of the gypsum material in the using process are avoided, and the service life is prolonged.
