The invention relates to a bucket-wheel excavator with a crawler steering mechanism. The bucket-wheel excavator comprises a bucket-wheel excavator body and a three-crawler steering mechanism, the bucket-wheel excavator body revolute pair is connected to the top of the three-track steering mechanism; the three-track steering mechanism comprises a portal steel structure, a fixed side track assembly and a rotating side track assembly. The fixed side track assembly is arranged at the bottom of the rear side of the portal steel structure; the rotating side crawler belt assemblies are arranged at the left end and the right end of the front side of the bottom of the portal steel structure correspondingly and are symmetrical. The fixed side crawler belt assembly comprises a fixed side crawler belt beam, a fixed side crawler belt and a fixed side hinged shaft; the middle of the fixed side crawler belt beam is connected with the bottom of the rear side of the portal steel structure through a fixed side hinged shaft. And the fixed side crawler belt is correspondingly arranged on the outer side of the fixed side crawler belt beam. The overall dimension of the three-crawler walking device and the flat plate width of three-crawler equipment can be effectively reduced, and therefore the conveying efficiency of the bucket-wheel excavator is greatly improved.
