The invention discloses an assembly type rectangular steel column installation construction method which comprises the following steps: S1, construction preparation is carried out, and meanwhile, an embedded bolt positioning device and an auxiliary installation system are manufactured; s2, foundation bolts are pre-embedded, a pre-embedded bolt positioning device is installed, and then concrete is poured; s3, the embedded bolt positioning device is dismantled, the first layer of rectangular steel columns are hoisted, and the bottoms of the steel column feet are grouted; s4, an auxiliary installation system is installed, then the upper-layer rectangular steel column is hoisted, and temporary connection between the upper-layer rectangular steel column and the first-layer rectangular steel column is achieved; s5, the side wall joints of the upper first layer of rectangular steel columns are welded in sequence, and after welding is completed, the auxiliary mounting system is dismounted to weld the joints of the four corners of the upper and lower rectangular steel columns till weld joints are full; s6, the step S4 and the step S5 are repeated till installation of all the rectangular steel columns is completed; the defects existing in a traditional process are overcome, and meanwhile the embedded bolt positioning device and the auxiliary mounting system are convenient to mount and dismount, easy to operate and capable of being recycled.
