The friction damping mechanism comprises an upper hinge support, a lower hinge support, damping baffles, a hinge rotating shaft and limiting gaskets, shaft holes are formed in the tail ends of the two sides of the upper hinge support respectively, limiting holes are formed in the top ends of the two sides of the lower hinge support respectively, and the damping baffles are arranged on the two sides of the limiting holes. The hinge rotating shaft is installed in the shaft hole in an interference fit mode and sequentially connected with the damping baffle on one side, the hinge lower support and the damping baffle on the other side in an assembled mode through the hinge rotating shaft, and the limiting gasket is installed in the limiting hole and connected to a clamping groove formed in the hinge rotating shaft in a buckled mode. By the adoption of the technical scheme, the conception is ingenious, the design is novel, compared with an existing spin riveting structure, the hinge moment is controllable when the spin riveting structure is used for a handrail hinge, only the interference magnitude of the damping baffle and the hinge rotating shaft needs to be adjusted, and therefore the use effect debugging function of the hinge rotating shaft is achieved.
