The invention relates to a method for enhancing electromagnetic wave absorption performance, in particular to a method for enhancing electromagnetic wave absorption performance of a silicon carbide material through irradiation modification. The invention solves the problem of how to improve the wave-absorbing property of the silicon carbide particles without introducing other elements due to poor wave-absorbing property of the existing silicon carbide particles. The method comprises: 1, preparing a silicon carbide pole piece; and 2, electron irradiation modification. The method is used for enhancing the electromagnetic wave absorption performance of the silicon carbide material through irradiation modification.
