The invention provides a sliding telescopic formwork plugging device. Comprising a formwork assembly, a plurality of supporting assemblies and a plurality of fixing assemblies. An upper positioning plate and a lower positioning plate of the template assembly are fixed, and a plurality of sliding templates are sequentially placed between the upper positioning plate and the lower positioning plate; a hanging and supporting plate of the supporting assembly is arranged on the upper side of a floor slab on the edge of a bridge opening; the lower end of a fixing screw of the fixing assembly is fixedly connected to the upper end face of an upper positioning plate of the formwork assembly, and the fixing screw is matched with a fixing nut. The invention further provides a construction method for blocking the vertical bridge opening. The construction method comprises the following steps that each hanging and supporting plate is supported above the bridge opening; the formwork assembly is fixed to the lower side of a bridge opening. A plurality of sliding formworks are adjusted to completely shield the remaining space between the bridge opening and the vertical bridge; pouring concrete; after the concrete reaches the preset strength, the plugging device is dismantled. According to the plugging device, the construction method for plugging the vertical bridge opening can be simplified, and the plugging device is simple and convenient to operate.
