A ceramic tile for a building surface includes a ceramic portion and a polymer coating disposed at an edge of the ceramic portion. The polymer coating includes a thermoset polymer material including functional groups adapted to produce crosslinking of the thermoset polymer material into a whole. Once the tile is arranged to form a building surface, the functional group is easily activated.
